Whether you are an up-and-coming artist, buying some pencils for your kids, or like to color for fun, I highly recommend Prismacolor. This brand is known for being great for everyone, regardless of their level of skill or expertise. It’s excellent quality for the money you pay, especially when using a coupon. Also, unlike some other pencils, these colored pencils have break-resistant tips and are more durable. The lead feels buttery as you draw it over the paper and is soft enough that you don’t have to press too hard at all.

Over the years, I have tried multiple brands, and I always come back to Prismacolor. I love how smooth and clear the color comes off the pencil. I don’t have to go over and over with the pencil to create a seamless background. Prismacolor colored pencils offer a wide range of colors and hues that you can layer to make even more dimension. All of the pencils are labeled with a name and number on the end of the pencil. I find this especially helpful when I have used up one pencil and go to the store to buy a new one. Instead of just guessing and hope for the best, I can get the exact shade that I want.

The Prismacolor box sets come in packs of 12, 24, 36, 48, 72, 132, and 150 and can be purchased at Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, Joann, Amazon, and others. If you’re looking for a brand of colored pencils that are vibrant with a range of muted and bright colors, I highly recommend you buy Prismacolor.
